MSDS @ Columbia · ex-AI Developer at Hostinger

Tomas
Jankauskas

Hi, I'm Tomas, a Data Science master's student at Columbia University and formerly an AI Developer at Hostinger, one of Europe's fastest-growing companies, where I pioneered company-wide adoption of the Model Context Protocol and built LLM-powered products.

I came up as a frontend engineer and started out as a physicist, which still shapes how I break down hard problems. Now I'm going deeper on data science and ML systems.

@ Hostinger International · Lithuania / Remote
one of Europe's fastest-growing companies · FT 1000, six years running
  • Pioneered company-wide adoption of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) - building Python tooling and contributing to Hostinger's NLP assistant, Kodee - to help automate and deflect 68% of routine support interactions across 4.6M global users, supporting €9M in annual operational savings
  • Spearheaded multi-locale A/B text experimentation by building custom MCP servers that integrated Amplitude telemetry with live UI adjustments via Claude Desktop
  • Replaced free-form text configurations with structured JSON outputs enforced via strict Pydantic validation schemas, reducing production pipeline formatting exceptions from 28% to <0.5%
  • Led weekly technical presentations on NLP and agentic architectures - analyzing 20+ foundational research papers to accelerate R&D knowledge transfer across the engineering division

Senior Frontend Developer

@ Hostinger International · Kaunas, Lithuania
  • Led the frontend development and implementation of the centralized multi-site dashboards and client collaboration tools for the "Hostinger Pro Panel" (Agency Hosting) launch

Life outside the editor

When I'm not shipping code, I'm usually somewhere new, coffee nearby. I trained as a physicist, so I never really stopped being curious about how things work: space, systems, and the messy edges where AI meets the real world.

What I'm chasing next: going deeper on data science and ML systems at Columbia, and building tools that make powerful tech feel effortless for the people using it.
